King Diamond makes surprise Show in Dallas (without makeup!)
Legendary Danish heavy metal singer King Diamond (KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE) played a surprise three-song set this past Friday, January 27 at Tree's in Dallas, Texas during the "5th Annual Nomad Recording Studio Throwdown". King, who appeared without his trademark makeup, was joined for the performance by Michael Harris on guitar, Neil Brincks on bass, J.T. Longoria on guitar and Matt Thompson (KING DIAMOND, SHAOLIN DEATH SQUAD) on drums. King also presented awards at the event, which featured additional performances by BORN & RAISED, SHAOLIN DEATH SQUAD, LOVE STRICKEN DEMISE and RIVETHEAD.

Born and raised in the tough industrial area of Middlesbrough, Mick began playing guitar at the age of 12 after seeing Ritchie Blackmore with Deep Purple on Top Of The Pops. After that all that existed was the guitar. Numerous guitars and bands followed finally he got a break with Axis. They released a single on Neat Records and toured around England. The NWOBHM was happening, exciting times ahead.
Joel Hoekstra - guitarist TSO, Rock of Ages, Night Ranger
We welcome Joel to the show! Joel has many years of performing with great artists and we are excited to catch up with him. He is currently on tour with the Rock of Ages production and we will catch him in between sets.
New York guitarist Joel Hoekstra plays for Night Ranger, the Broadway hit 'Rock of Ages' and Trans Siberian Orchestra. Joel can be heard on Night Ranger's new cd 'Somewhere in California'. Recently, he had the pleasure of filling in for Mick Jones of Foreigner. Joel's cd's 'undefined', 'The Moon is Falling' and '13 acoustic songs' have found a strong cult following and critical acclaim.
Maximum Threshold is real champion of hard rock and metal. Top-quality site, the DJ's know their metal, and they feature huge special guests (including THUNDERDIKK, haha). Dom is a real pro, totally down to earth, and is truly interested in helping rockers gain exposure and success. We just had an on air interview (same night as Adrian Vandenberg) and are slated for a video interview as well. THUNDERDIKK definitely Thunderapproves Maximum Threshold!!!
