As one of the biggest trade shows in the music industry, NAMM draws nearly 100,000 attendees every year and this year was no different. NAMM is held every January in Anaheim, California at the Anaheim Convention Center which is just about a 5 min walk from Disneyland.
We were only able to cover one day this year but in that one day I saw a plethora of musicians signing at different booths, like Lita Ford, DJ Ashba of Sixx AM, and Nico McBrain of Iron Maiden to name a few. I also grabbed a couple of interviews that included Gus G who replaced Zakk Wylde for Ozzy’s band and September of September Mourning.
Once you enter the building, you immediately go into sensory overload while your brain takes a moment to process all that is going on around you. There are booths with equipment for any of your musical needs, from recording to lighting to any musical instrument you can think of and maybe even a few you didn’t know existed. Some booths have signings by famous musicians, while other have performances going on. You will see people who are trying out the instruments and gear at different booths before possibly buying it.
There is also a stage set up outside that you can listen to different types of music being played live all while you get your grub on at the different gourmet food trucks. And by the end of the day, you and everyone else will head out looking like zombies from walking all 4 floors of the Anaheim Convention Center.
If all that wasn’t enough, there are numerous music shows going on every night of NAMM at local clubs for you to check out. So if you ever have a chance to attend NAMM then go, you won’t regret it.
It’s late October in Hollywood, Ca. and while many of you in the Los Angeles area, (maybe the whole entire State of California) are so preoccupied with the worst politics in the world, I made my way down to the Troubadour where I’m about to experience a musical event of ginormous proportions for the first time, the Hellrzzr tour with newly formed INVIDIA, White Knuckle Riot and Vyces.
INVIDIA a band that has been in the works since 2015 and even though most of the members of the band have known each other for awhile, Travis Johnson (of In This Moment) and Brian Jackson – guitars (formerly of Skinlab) were the ones that got the ball rolling. Bring in Matt Snell, one hell of a bass player who used to head bang with this little band called FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH. Add in guitarist Marcos Medina (formerly of Skinlab) and the smashing likes of Darren Badorine – drums, and you have one of the hard hitting bands to be reckoned with.
Their music speaks for itself and the energy delivered by this band is enough to keep you engaged in their high octane performance. After the opening song , Travis dives right into another track. The two guitarists and bass player lay down a thick, heavy metal industrious sound and when Matt Snell, joins in on the backing vocals duties, it all blends well with an all-out energetic assault on the stage.
Attempting to label INVIDIA as just another heavy metal band would be doing them a disservice, as the band encompasses stylistic nuances from many genres, incorporating hard rock, metal and in my opinion, some punk elements into a truly ASS KICKING sound. And it definitely showed on this HELLRZZRINGnight!
Matt Snell – from INVIDIA was kind enough to take some time out from a very busy first night and speak with me on their tour RV- mobile. click here
PT. 2 OF MY HELLRZZRING NIGHT:
Sacramento’s own, White Knuckle Riot, consist of, Johnny Schizo ECV (vocals), Misfire ECV (bass), Brian “Beatdown” Kelly – (Drums/Percussion), Sam “Sever” Davidson (Lead Guitar) and from Van Nuys, Ca. Carlos Pagan (Rhythm Guitar), who offered guest support with their crushing Nor Cal sound.
WKR delivered a set that pummeled the audience and brought the already energized crowd to a feeding frenzy of musical aggression. As soon as the band broke into their first song, the fans erupted with screams, and the head banging and the moshing was off to the races. The guitar duo of Sam “The Server” and Carlos Pagan are machines on the guitars, Johnny Schizo provides the menacing vocal layers over the relentless rhythm as their song sections offers a plethora of chunky riffs mixed with intricate and tasty grooves . Their music blurs the lines between genres and styles, and the mix of technical prowess and dirty metal grooves that blended well with bassists Misfire &drummer “Beatdown” Kelly. When it was all said and done, the band played a blistering set that was both powerful and intense.
Overall this was an excellent triple bill, featuring outstanding performances from all three bands. If you have the opportunity to check any of these bands out on this tour or any tours to come, I highly suggest you do so – you will not be disappointed!
Check out the interview I did with White Knuckle Riot after the show for Maximum Threshold Radio where WKR’s discusses their most recent record ‘AMURDICA’ (Available Now), touring cycle, their love for all military, as well what the future may ultimately hold for the band. click here
Enthralling Hard Rockers’ Soaring New Single ‘Song And A Prayer’ and Short Film Unleashed November 4th, 2016!
Riveting Hard Rockers The Dead Daisies have lined up the release of their captivating new single ‘A Song And A Prayer’, for today, November 4th on Spitfire Music / SPV.
A short film, reflecting the poignant story behind the lyrics of ‘A Song And A Prayer’, the new single to be taken from The Dead Daisies’ much acclaimed new album ‘Make Some Noise’, which crashed into the album charts worldwide in August, is unveiled today at:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDJu9I2zYkY&feature=youtu.be
Says John Corabi: “This song turned out to have a special vibe to it, very accessible, which is really cool. But the lyrics are rather dark. In the end it’s about hope, it talks about all the troubles we’re all going through – and that you have to be hopeful, that you will come out of it. Always look on the positive side, that’s the message.”
The Dead Daisies, who were recently special guests on KISS’ entire ‘Freedom To Rock’ US tour, have just played their first ever USO headline tour for Servicemen and –women in South Korea.
Today, November 4th, they commence performing with KISS on the Kiss Kruise in Cozumel, Mexico, until November 9th.
The Dead Daisies, a ‘must-see’ live act then fly in to the UK to perform sold out shows starting November 12th.
Los Angeles, Ca: They’re intense. They grab the audience by the throat and they’re definitely worth experiencing LIVE , if you haven’t already. I’m talking about none other than Los Angeles based hard rockers ( VYCES) featuring former members of (BREAKING BENJAMIN, HEART-SET SELF DESTRUCT and THROWN INTO EXILE) who last week in Hollywood, Ca; embarked on their first ever Hellrzzr Tour w/ INVIDIA and Northern California’s own, WHITE KNUCKLE RIOT. (More on these two bands soon).
Touring in support of their just released debut album, “Devils”, VYCES played tracks off their latest LP and the crowd went wild, like animals on a feeding frenzy and now it begins! Lead vocalist Dave Naruszewicz, formerly of ‘Heart-Set Self Destruct’ does it, he took command with his Deftones type prowess of the stage, pulling in the crowd for a head-bangin’ ride that would last for the next 30-40 mins.
VYCES delivered the music with an electrifying punch to your brain cavity. Drummer Russell Ray was monstrous on the drums tucked in the back of the stage. Shawn Patterson – Guitar and Mark James Klepaski – Bass, yes – that same Klepaski (formerly of Breaking Benjamin) were also an electrifying sight to watch. Keyboardist/Vocalist, Evan Seidlitz , flew across the stage, jumping so high I thought he was going to touch the sky! Then returning to his keyboard, showing off his dual wielding skills of playing keyboards and killing it on vocals..An absolute joy to watch these guys go!
Through the entire night I was so impressed by my debut viewing of VYCES. They never failed to deliver with their live performance, with ears and senses assailed, necks suffering whiplash…. Ears ringing, I left the venue sweating, and exhausted but with a huge grin on my face with only one thing that came to mind, “Jesus, They Kinda Grabbed Me By The Boo – Boo, Didn’t They”?!?
To hear more about everything Vyces, please check out the interview below that I did with the guys before they hit the stage at the Troubadour, along with the debut video for the first single ‘Devils’ off the New EP available now on ITUNES.

I love finding out of the way venues to enjoy kick ASS head bangin’ metal music performed live by shredding acts. On Oct. 8th I found a gem of a venue nestled in the heart of Los Angeles, Ca; Glendale to be precise.
The Church of the 8th Day is now in session for all you rock and heavy metal music enthusiast, and it welcomes fans young and old to enjoy the original musical stylings of a few of the music world’s fastest rising metal acts and big name bands in the industry. The Church is the brainchild of Daniel Dismal who is the founder and booking agent for the Complex which on this night booked a band i’m very familiar with, “Crowned By Fire“.
I have seen Crowned By Fire on numerous occasions and on this night, like many others, Crowned showed me once again why they’re seasoned pros when performing.
The band played songs spanning their whole career but focused on their newer material. Even the old – school CBF heads were visibly moved, as heads nodded along to the heavy crushing – sludge metal emanating from the stage.
Their set flew by in a flash and left the crowd wanting more. I was very impressed, and will be looking forward to seeing more from CBF in the future. But for now you have to settle with an interview I did with (guitarist) Justin Manning outside the venue.
Recently M.T. Radio had the opportunity to catch up with both Henry Derek-lead singer and the awesome likes of Chris Broderick – guitarist from the metal band ‘Act of Defiance’ before their performance at the The Complex in Glendale, Ca. (Due to time constrictions, we were unable to stay and catch their live performance). Chris and Henry were both kind enough to take time out and discuss with Maximum Threshold Radio about their current tour cycle, new album in the works, as well what the future may ultimately holds for the band before they took the stage.
For those not familiar with AOD, the metal supergroup from the Los Angeles, Ca. area was formed in 2014 by Broderick and drummer, Shawn Drover both of Megadeth fame who resigned from the band on the same day. Joining them was vocalist Henry Derek (Scar the Martyr fame) and bassist Matt Bachand (Shadows Fall guitarist) who came in to man the bass for the band.
It’s like a honky tonk metal style punch…fine examples of heart-achin’ beer drinking- southern style – white trash – rock ‘n roll good times.
Scattered Hamlet has that look, feel and sound of a true southern rock band that plays for the every day Pabst Blue Ribbon drinking man by combining vintage early 70’s hard rock with today’s metal sound.
Hamlet creates their own unique brand of southern rock embraced by Hippies, Rednecks, General Lee Bridge Jumpers and Bikers alike.
“American Rock-Roots Music, You Sumbitches”!!
Today Scattered Hamlet has released their second single “White Trash” off their soon to be released new album ‘Swamp Rebel Machine,’ due out on Nov. 4th which you can now preorder by clicking onto the link. http://scatteredhamletgeneralstore.bigcartel.com

Lemmy, who celebrated his 70th birthday last Christmas Eve (December 24), learned later that he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. He died two days later, on December 28, at his home in Los Angeles.
In honor of Lemmy. The Rainbow Bar and Grill in Hollywood, Ca. (Where Lemmy was a regular, like Norm was on Cheers) had a life size statue made for Kilmister for the whole world to see. You can see this statue today by visiting the Rainbow on the famous Sunset Strip.
RIP Lemmy..It seems your sprit continues to live on in all of us and now lives on through an 3 – inch Pop! vinyl figure..

Over the past 40 plus years ZZ Top has become one of the most successful Blues/Rock acts in history. In 2004 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for their contributions to the music community, and well deserved I might add.
Guitarist Billy Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard were influenced by such blues greats as Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker which can be heard in most of their hits and shows when performing live for all the screaming fans on this cool Thursday Los Angeles , Ca. night.
The lights went out and over the duration of about 90 minute set, the band led us through a predominantly ‘early-years’ set, delivering drenched rock – classics like set opener ‘Got Me Under Pressure’, ‘Jesus Just Left Chicago’, to the Texas boys cover of the (Robert Petway Cover) hit “Catfish Blues” through to more modern ZZ Top’s catalog with ‘Legs’.
As I watched ZZ Top perform, the reverse was true with Gibbons and his ZZ Top vocal performance . I swear, it sounds as if at age 66, the man sounds better than ever. His voice retains a remarkable soulful blues sound as I was in awe how Billy can switch from his sludgy, dirty low – down blues sound to the smooth, radio-friendly hit’s of ‘Gimme All Your Lovin’ & ‘Sharp Dressed Man’ with out missing a beat.
Gibbons and his bandmates – veterans bassist “Duster”, “The Dust” and drummer Frank Beard – played songs as if they were performing a tour to support a brand-new album.
ZZ Top is one of just a few bands to have held the same lineup for more than 45 years, ZZ Top has been praised by critics and fellow musicians alike for their love of the blues which was on full display on this packed Greek Theater night.

Motograter have signed to EMP LABEL GROUP, who will release Desolation, the bands highly-anticipated sophomore album, produced by Ahrue Luster (Ill Nino/Ex-Machine Head) and mixed by Joshua Wickman (Within the Ruins, KING 810). The album was engineered by Luster, Wickman, and Jon Berrier, and recorded at Illustrious Productions, Dreadcore Productions, and BlackPlate Productions.
Art for DESOLATION was created by “Mister Sam” Shearon, who has created covers for comic books and graphic novels including Clive Barker’s HELLRAISER, Judge Dredd, The X-Files, Mars Attacks, KISS, and Clive Barker’s Books of Blood as well as artwork for some of the biggest names in rock music, such as Godhead, Ministry, Rob Zombie, Iron Maiden, Powerman 5000, Biohazard, American Head Charge, Rammstein, Fear Factory and Kill Devil Hill.
Desolation marks the band’s first full-length album since the 2003 Elektra/No Name self-titled release featuring Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch) on vocals (Motograter is now fronted by James Anthony Legion (Deadform/The Breathing Process), and signing to EMP LABEL GROUP has brought that excitement full circle, according to label operations manager/A&R Director Thom Hazaert.
“I was actually in (the late) Steve Richards (No Name Records) office the DAY he signed Motograter. And he was SO excited, going on and on about this amazing new band he just signed, that made their own instrument (The Motograter) etc.. Steve was such a cool and infectious guy, and brought such an amazing energy to everything he did, and to this day, that stuck with me. And now to be able to come back full circle and put out Desolation on EMP, all these years later, and kinda continue that legacy with the current lineup, is really an amazing middle to the story. These guys have worked SO hard for so long, and it is an honor to sign a band that works as hard as MOTO does. Motograter, literally, should be the blueprint any hard touring independent band should follow.”
MOTOGRATER drummer Noah “Shark” Robertson adds, “We are honored and very proud to be working with David Ellefson, Thom Hazaert, and everyone else at EMP Label Group. We have fought tooth and nail to bring people new Motograter music. We can’t wait to unleash this voracious beast that is ‘Desolation’ upon the masses.”
Additionally, Motograter has signed an exclusive deal with JLS Artist Management, currently the management company of record for Dope and Flaw. JLS is run by former Rock Ridge Music label president Jason Spiewak. Spiewak says “We are stoked to have this opportunity to work with Motograter. These guys are road dogs, ready to work hard and deliver a great record”.
On Tour Now:
Motograter is: James Legion – Vocals Matthew “Nuke” Nunes – Guitar Jesse Stamper – Guitar Mylon Guy – Bass Noah “Shark” Robertson – Drums Dustin “Skunk” Anderson – Motograter Joey Vice – Smurs/Samples/Vocals
The excitement of the evening began with fans anxiously awaiting for The Regrettes to come out and play @ this out of the ordinary looking warehouse/ low-key club tucked away in the heart of Los Angeles called NON PLUS ULTRA. But first the fans would be treated to a high energy packed performance from the bands of (LIILY) and (Casinos) who did a fantastic job with getting the crowd going.
The fans grew louder and larger as the night continued on, or as much as this non-air conditioning place could handle.
The evening concluded with the headliner ‘The Regrettes’ who came out as the crowd erupted in thunderous cheers and excitement.
The Regrettes are an Eagle Rock based young band whose unique sound is derived from that garage pop sound with influences from the likes of Hole, Joan Jett and that 50ish – do – wop punk sound your moms has been warning you about..lol. The band is made up of Lydia Night (vocals/guitar), Genessa Gariano (guitar), Sage Chavis (bass), and Maxx Morando (drums).
What really fascinated me about this young talented band was their 1950ish look and feel, which took me back when my mom would play her old records…RIP CAROL
The video for the single “Hey Now” which tackles societies prejudices is something we all need to pay close attention to. Maybe even learn a thing or two from this song.
Lead singer Lydia Night .. “In the video we address a lot of issues, such as racism, misogyny, and LGBTQ rights, to point out the fact that though these were all issues that were very alive in the 50s and 60s, we still face all these same problems today.” “Obviously things are generally much better when it comes to these problems, but the fact that they still exist is sad and an issue in itself.”
The sound was spot on for all three acts rounding out a fantastic night of music. I was surprised by the venue. It kinda reminded when I was a young trouble-maker back in the day hitting all the underground punk clubs, when music was music and no one judged you or what you listen to. Just goes to show you, “Never Judge a venue by it’s cover..”
Highly Suspect just played two sold out shows at the Troubadour in Hollywood, Ca on their tour to promote their new album The Boy Who Died Wolf that will be released Nov. 18 and We were there to witness that which is dubbed the Highly Suspect Dance Party. You never know just what is going to go down when you see them play or who will be there. This night saw Johnny share his cookies with the crowd and give away one of his Fender guitars to a guy in the crowd. It also saw Pamela Anderson and Courtney Love in attendance. Once you attend a HS show then, as Johnny explains, you are family and part of MCID, which stands for ‘My Crew Is Dope’.
I have been a fan of the band since I heard the first note of Lydia and this would be my second time seeing Highly Suspect, the first being in April of this year, and I am still amazed at how diverse of a crowd they attract, ranging from young to old and all across the racial sphere. This time around they played two nights in a row instead of just one and they sold out both nights.
It seems that the guys in the band prefer the close knit feel of a smaller venue like the Troubadour and in turn that makes it feel like less of a show and more like a get together with the guys. They always have people come up on stage wether it be the whole crowd like last time I saw them or people they know that they invite on the stage with them. Personally, I like this more intimate type of show where they don’t seem so out of reach. Johnny seems to give off this positive vibe, this musical aura that seems to surround him and infuses the crowd with that energy, like the past greats of Jim Morrison and Elvis.
During their set, HS played both singles, Serotonia and My Name Is Human, that have been pre-released off the new Album as well as songs from Mister Asylum. During their encore, they came out and played The Alligator Song and Gang Lion, songs from their early career before being signed and Johnny was amazed that the crowd not only knew the songs but were also able to sing along.
The new album, “The Boy Who Died Wolf”, drops November 18 and if the two singles I have heard already are anything like the rest of the album, then I am sure that it will blow you mind like the past albums they released.

It was Rude, It was Sleazy, It was what the 80’s hair metal was all about back then. I am talking about the SiriusXM’s Hair Nation Festival at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater in Irvine, California and it saw the likes of Lita Ford, Vixen, Kix, Faster Pussycat, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Britny Fox to name a few of the 22 bands, An all day onslaught of 80’s & 90’s Hair Metal bands coming at you from two different stages with food, alcohol and merch booths for you to get your swag on, all hosted by Eddie Trunk.
Now I have been going to the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater since I was in High School to see a great many bands, I even snuck in over the back fence a time or two. When I heard about this show and that there is only a few more shows before the venue closes it’s doors for good, I just knew I had to go. One more trip down memory lane as they say…
Upon entering the venue something that caught my attention was the Save the Music group who were collecting signatures for their petition to save the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater from being closed down.
One of the many surprises that were in store for those in attendance was seeing Tracii Guns and Phil Lewis playing together with LA Guns for the first time since they parted ways and thanks to the Hair Nation Festival, they have scheduled many more shows that they will be playing together again.
Patrick Kennison, Guitarist for Lita Ford, filled in some mighty big shoes singing Ozzy’s parts with Lita on “Close Your Eyes”. Also for Lita’s birthday, Eddie Trunk had a cake brought out on stage and had the audience sing Happy Birthday to Lita all while Lita was still trying to perform.
I caught up with Tommy Paris of Britny Fox and he took a few minutes to talk with me before their Meet and Greet to fill me in on the current status of the band, new music and upcoming shows. Please click on the video below to get all the details.
Even as we say goodbye to the Irvine Amphitheater and sadly watch it close it’s doors, there is talk that a new venue is already in the works for a new location for next years 2nd Annual Hair Nation Festival. If you were unable to make it to this one, or even if you did, then I hope to see you at the next one.
Big thanks goes out to Ashley Di Buduo of A12 Entertainment and all their staff behind the scenes who helped to facilitate this little adventure of ours.
Los Angeles, Ca – Crown By Fire will be hitting the stage with Act Of Defiance for a night of metal debauchery.
Act Of Defiance, a newly formed band which is comprised of Ex- MEGADETH members Chris Broderick & Shawn Drover, has embarked on their fall tour with Hell Yeah & Killswitch Engage along with headlining shows with Hatchet (See websites for details).
CBF is no stranger to the metal community. Their full length debut album “Prone To Destroy” was recorded in Florence, Italy and their forthcoming EP “Space Music For Cave People” was recently recorded at Zakk Wylde’s Black Vatican Studios, which was mixed by legendary Texan producer/engineer Sterling Winfield and was release on Chrome Mountain Records with great reviews.
If you DO NOT like your music to come with warnings, than this my friend isn’t the band for.
Because CBF will punch you like SLAYER with their brand of sludge metal, while at the same time delivering Sabbath like riffs that leaves you wanting more. You know, Shit that moves you.. Shit that has heart and soul,” Dimebag…
Also Joining Crowned on stage is Fracture & Eye of Ember – All on this glorious night of heavy metal music..

Hollywood, Ca – It was one HELL of a party at the Rainbow end of the Summer Backyard Bash. Hosted by the famous Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip with knock out – drag out performances by Buckcherry, HIRAX, Iron Butterfly and London.
The Rainbow has been know to host many shows to celebrities to album release parties. Locally, it is known for having the best Pizza on the strip and is now home to Lemmy statue that Hirax member Katon W. De Pena spearheaded, which was created by local artist Travis Moore for free and funded by his many fans with $20,000 via online fundraising.
For years, Kilmister was a regular at the Rainbow bar in West Hollywood, often sitting by himself in front of his favorite poker video-game console. Never turning down an eager fan wanting a photo selfie. When Lemmy found out that he had terminal cancer, Rainbow’s owner Mikael Maglieri brought the machine to Kilmister’s house; it was revealed that Kilmister spent many of his last hours playing the game before passing away. Mikael was quoted as saying , ‘My God, he just died right in front of me,’ to Motörhead’s manager Todd Singerman.
Entry was free to the show with the purchase of two drink tickets ($16) and you got a solid day of amazing music, from hard hitting old school 80’s metal bands Hirax and London, to the 60’s with Iron Butterfly and to the more current Buckcherry. Due to the notorious L.A. traffic, we missed the opening bands which included All Hail the Yeti, Mycah, and Brittney’s Rage but heard they all put on a fantastic rock show to get the crowd psyched. Not taking anything away from any of the other performances, the two that really stuck out to me was Hirax and Buckcherry.
Hirax still has that hard hitting metal energy that you think of when you think true 80’s metal. Watching Katon perform on stage took me back to my high school days when it was still believed that there were messages from the Devil if you played your Metal records backwards. Times where the (PMRC) took on anyone and everyone who was Metal.
And whats there to say about Buckcherry that hasn’t already been said!? They are a great band and it ended the night on just the right note. Josh is another great front man that knows how to work everyone in the crowd, especially all the ladies. “If you’re going to be a fucking rock star, go be one. People don’t want to see the guy next door on stage; they want to see a being from another planet. You want to see somebody you’d never meet in real life.” – Lemmy Kilmister
To say that the new Seasons After record Manifesto is an evolution would be an understatement. The album set to release on November 11, 2016 is a brash declaration of the policies, goals, and opinions of a band that has weathered the storm and come back with a vengeance. Building on past radio success with three Top 40 singles and over 3.5 million YouTube views, the band has grown, matured, endured, and developed a chip on their shoulder that results in a blistering array of songs that will satiate the tastes of both rock and metal music fans alike.
Guitarist Jimmy Beattie states, ““Fighter is a song for warriors! It’s about having the strength to quiet all those little voices inside our heads that tell us we can’t accomplish, achieve, or get through whatever the battle may be……This song defiantly screams I CAN!” The album was written with nothing but the truth in mind. It’s about the unspoken realities that a lot of us live with, and some of the hard truths we all face at one time or another. The idea is to let listeners know that they are not alone, and that someone understands. We can find each other in the dark.”
The record truly is a roller-coaster ride that will draw the listener in with every dynamic change. Seasons After uses massive choruses and hooks mixed with heart-wrenching melodies and shrieking, chugging, glass shattering brutality to convey the true spirit and personality of the band.
Front-man Tony Housh adds, “Manifesto is the culmination of everything we have learned both as a signed and independent band, and as individuals over the years. The album is not only a reflection of our personal and musical journeys, but it is also an expression of the frustrations and challenges created along the way. We’re excited to unleash this newest chapter. We all stepped into this commitment together years ago, and this truly has become our Manifesto”.
Listeners can expect to experience a variety of emotions ranging from rage to bliss and everything in between. The band has truly arrived in thunderous fashion with this record and successfully bridged the gap and improved on their already vast catalog of songs. The desperation and longing for something more truly translates on this record. Having toured coast-to-coast multiple times, the band is primed and ready to do it again to further grow their already rabid fan-base, and showcase what their hard work and dedication have brought forth in the form of their newest release, Manifesto.
Ghost have premiered a new track called Square Hammer with Sirius XM. It’s the first new music from the band since last year’s Grammy Award-winning third album Meliora.
Nameless Ghouls says: “We’re very proud of it. We’re obviously thrilled to be able to play something new. This is a short, to-the-point little gem right at the jugular.”
Last month, a Nameless Ghoul said the band are “too funny” to be taken seriously by metal purists.
The Ghoul said:“I do think to a certain degree that we are misunderstood. We started off doing this with the intention of becoming this small horror rock band. It was supposed to be entertaining.
“The more puritan sort of metal people think we’re too funny, or too this or that. We want people to be happy.”
“We represent humour and happiness. It’s quite commonly known that laughter, satire and humour – at least from a medieval point-of-view – was very much regarded as a craft of the devil.”
“I’ve been listening to ‘devil music’ ever since I was a kid. For me it’s so natural, but its rock’n’roll. The tool of the devil is to trick with you to screw with each other.”

First of all, I feel guilty for not experiencing THE AGONIST before. When listening to songs off their new album ‘FIVE’ I was immediately struck by the power of this band, from Vicky Psarakis stunning earth-shaking vocals to the screaming guitars of Danny Marino and Pascal “Paco” Jobin.
For me, all I want out of my metal experience is for a band to hammer me right over the head with their sound and The Agonist seemed to have done that.
Designed to make it all the way to the top in the extreme metal scene with their fine-tuned mixture of melodic death metal and metal core. Five makes the elite status of the Canadian five piece even clearer, enforcing their goal to escape the mundane. Singer Vicky Psarakis’s joining of the group in 2014 only enhanced The Agonist`s knack for touching melodies (just give the lascivious ‘The Raven Eyes’ a whirl), and flirting with alternative rock became a habit. However there is still palpable aggression in the air, discharging in technical death metal solos, beastly growls and massive breakdowns. If you’re not on board the bandwagon by now, than you had better get on, because from here on out THE AGONISTare only going to get better.

If you’re a fan of Symphony X, Dream Theater, Scar Symmetry, Sonata Arctica & Kamelot than you need to add Montreal’s own ‘FRACTAL CYPHER’ to your list of prog master musicians.
FRACTAL CYPHER unleash their debut album ‘The Human Paradox’ out now as of September 7th. The album is produced by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Beyond Creation, Neuraxis) and features 9 songs, each hand picked and strategically chosen to best represent the living, breathing entity that is FRACTAL CYPHER.
“We’re proud to finally unveil 2 years of hard work and we wish that you guys will enjoy the album as much as we do!” comments guitarist Vincent Bruneau.
FRACTAL CYPHER exists to captivate audiences with progressive instrumentals that cut through the mesmerizing vocals yet somehow evolving; each listen provides a new perspective. Straight out of the heart of Canada’s metal scene, these Montreal metallers constantly shift their compositions with seamless transitions and theatrical interludes to keep audiences on their toes. Since 2014, ex-Far From Reality members Simon Lavoie (vocals), Ludovick Daoust (keyboard), and Vincent Bruneau (guitar) have dedicated themselves to F.C.
The powerful quintet is just as versatile in their music as they are in their musical interests, darting between djent, death metal, and classic rock. Each song acts of their own volition almost taking control of the members and shaping a personality and energy not unlike a living entity. Ludovick is at the helm of songwriting, calculating and unlocking each melody and becoming the voice for each piece.

Hard hitting metal act Crowbar will be releasing their 11th album “The Serpent Only Lies” on Oct. 26th – via Entertainment One (eOne) in North America and via SPV overseas.
“We are so excited about our 11th studio record! The Serpent Only Lies is a powerful follow up,” adds Windstein. “Eliran Kantor did a brilliant job with the artwork! Our first release, “Falling While Rising”, is Crowbar at its finest… HEAVIER THAN EVER!!!“
We here @ M.T. Radio couldn’t agree more with Winstein’s comment. It’s hard and heavy and will definitely deliver a Sludge Metal punch to your cranium.
But do not take our word for it. See for yourselves by listening to their first single off the album, “Falling While Rising”.

September 6, 2016 – Los Angeles, CA – Sweden’s musical alchemists, OPETH, have unveiled an earnest new track called “Will O The Wisp.” The track is found on the band’s forthcoming, 12th studio album, Sorceress, that will be released on September 30th via the band’s imprint label Moderbolaget Records with Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
Stream “Will O The Wisp”
In a recent, exclusive track-by-track feature with Metal Hammer, vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt gave some insight behind the creation of the song. “It’s a song inspired by “Dun Ringil”l by Jethro Tull (from the album Stormwatch, 1979). I wanted to do a song with my capo really high, so it’s up on the fifth fret. It makes the guitar sound really glittery. I just wanted to go for a simple, catchy vocal melody. It has a slightly positive vibe to it, but the lyrics are really, really dark. It’s a beautiful song, I think. I’m really happy with that one.”
Fans who pre-order the album on iTunes and Amazon Music will receive an instant download of “Will O the Wisp” and the band’s previously released title track, “Sorceress.” Links to pre-orders can be found below.
OPETH will make their awaited return to the U.S. later this month with a performance at Ozzfest/Knotfest in San Bernardino, CA, which will be followed by a headlining North American tour. Portland, Oregon’s own fast-rising five-piece AMERAKIN OVERDOSE are paving their way towards being the next big thing in shock rock with their upcoming full-length album, The Great Amerakin Dream, out September 30, 2016. The melodic hard rock record, which also blends groove and synth/industrial metal influences, will hit digital retailers such as iTunes and CD Baby soon,
AMERAKIN OVERDOSE recently created a controversial buzz with their new track “I, Alone”, which you can watch the official music video by clicking onto the video below.
“I, Alone” Official Video
The band’s quickly-growing fanbase, social following and rapid organic attention helped push the video to over 30,000 views in just under two weeks – a rare feat for an independent hard rock artist.
Today, AMERAKIN OVERDOSE are following up with their brand new track “Letting Go” – a more impassioned take on the band’s heavy-hitting sound – featuring guest vocalist Waylon Reavis, formerly of Mushroomhead. Reavis lends his ominous clean vocals to the track’s chorus. Take a listen here, exclusively via idobi Radio: http://idobi.com/exclusives/premiere/premiere-amerakin-overdoses-letting-go/
A music video for the track is scheduled to be released this fall.
AMERAKIN OVERDOSE multi-instrumentalist and The Great Amerakin Overdose producer The Human states, “‘Letting Go’ is a track about conflict, and how we as people almost seem to seek out that conflict instead of growing above and beyond it. There is a back and forth at work in the track both lyrically and musically that represents the struggle to let go of the anger we have and move forward.”
AMERAKIN OVERDOSE caught Waylon Reavis’ eyes and ears when they shared the stage with Mushroomhead on tour in 2015. He was impressed by AMERAKIN OVERDOSE’s consistently energetic performances night after night, extensive merchandise line and rapid sales on the road – proving their powerful fan engagement ability.
Ex Mushroomhead Waylon Reavis adds, “Working with AMERAKIN OVERDOSE was a blast. I love how the track turned out. It was a nice change to create something that forced me to put myself in a different headspace.”
AMERAKIN OVERDOSE brings a raw energy and heaviness to hooky hard rock that has long been missing from the industry. Primary production credits on The Great Amerakin Dream go to AMERAKIN OVERDOSE mastermind and vocalist Cody Perez and multi-instrumentalist The Human, who work closely together to write and record their music at Human Studios. The album also features guest production from Ahrue Luster (Ill Nino, Machine Head), further pushing the sonic envelope and positioning the band with a bright future the hard rock scene.
Band members Perez and The Human are flanked by bassist Brandon Sills, drummer Brick, and Pete “Filth” Perez on backing vocals.
Catch AMERAKIN OVERDOSE live:

What happens when you put a band of good ol’ boys never meaning no harm other then to Drink, Smoke & Play a mix of honky tonk Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gregg Allman and Motorhead (Rip Lemmy) sleazy southern style rock music? Well my friend you would’ve attended a Scattered Hamlet show @ the world famous Whisky A Go Go in the heart of Hollywood, Ca.
Scattered Hamlet’s influences range from southern rock to groove metal to heavy metal with the attitude of punk rock. With humble origins all across the US and a relentless touring schedule of 100+ shows all across America, the band makes no apologies for the equal love of Harley Davidson’s, honky tonk, beer drinking, Les Pauls, Marshalls, shotguns and classic American symbolism.
This was the last show of this tour that took them completely across the states where I witnessed these rock ‘n roll outlaws putting on a great show.
The guys will be heading back into the studio to finish the new album but they took the time to talk to me about life on the road, where they get their sound and how Jake always brings up the rear, but not in the weird way. To listen to what the Scattered Hamlet boys had to say about this and more, please click on the interview below.
