she-rocks-vol-1-cover-image-300x271                   SHE ROCKS, VOL.1 GUITAR COMPILATION

Releasing January 20, 2017 via Steve Vai’s Favored Nations Label

Lita Ford, Orianthi, Nita Strauss, Jennifer Batten and Many More Contribute Tracks

Who says the ladies can’t rock? Today Favored Nations Entertainment announces the upcoming release of the all-female compilation, She Rocks, Vol.1. This collection of kick-ass guitar goddesses is produced by author and former Guitar World editor, Brad Tolinski with iconic guitarist Steve Vai as executive producer, and showcases eleven female guitarists, each a virtuoso in her own right. From the legendary Lita Ford to Sarah Longfield’s jazzy riffin’, to Orianthi’s melodic stylings and the all-out shredding of Nita Strauss, these players each contribute their own voice to this carefully curated collection.

She Rocks, Vol.1 compilation will be released on January 20, 2017 via Vai’s own Favored Nations Label, and in cooperation with the Women’s International Music Network (, hosts of the famed “She Rocks Awards.” The compilation will be celebrated at the 2017 “She Rocks Awards,” taking place that evening in Anaheim, CA during the annual NAMM Convention.

These shredding songstresses cover the stage when it comes to style and personality; Ford is the quintessential guitar rock goddess with decades of top shelf performances, Jennifer Batten made her name playing for Michael Jackson, Strauss has toured with Alice Cooper for the past year, and the list goes on!

“Through the years women have become more and more interested in ripping it up on the guitar. It’s amazing to watch. Favored Nations is very excited to be working with producer Brad Tolinski in creating a compilation of many of the women who are evolving the instrument in powerful ways. They are wildly raising the bar.” – Steve Vai

“People always ask me about the future of the guitar, and in many ways, the artists on this album are the answer. They represent a new vision and a fresh sensibility.” – Album producer, former Guitar World editor and author of Play It Loud: A History of the Electric Guitar (Doubleday), Brad Tolinski

The She Rocks, Vol.1 compilation showcases the amazing talents of Orianthi, Yasi Hofer, Kat Dyson, Sarah Longfield, Lita Ford, Jennifer Batten, Nita Strauss, Steph Paynes, Nili Brosh, Gretchen Menn, and Yvette Young and will be released on January 20, 2017. Find out more at artists/sherocksvol1/

First of all, I feel guilty for not experiencing THE AGONIST before. When listening to songs off their new album ‘FIVE’ I was immediately struck by the power of this band, from Vicky Psarakis stunning earth-shaking vocals to the screaming guitars of Danny Marino and Pascal “Paco” Jobin.

For me, all I want out of my metal experience is for a band to hammer me right over the head with their sound and The Agonist seemed to have done that.

Designed to make it all the way to the top in the extreme metal scene with their fine-tuned mixture of melodic death metal and metal core. Five makes the elite status of the Canadian five piece even clearer, enforcing their goal to escape the mundane. Singer Vicky Psarakis’s joining of the group in 2014 only enhanced The Agonist`s knack for touching melodies (just give the lascivious ‘The Raven Eyes’ a whirl), and flirting with alternative rock became a habit. However there is still palpable aggression in the air, discharging in technical death metal solos, beastly growls and massive breakdowns. If you’re not on board the bandwagon by now, than you had better get on, because from here on out  THE AGONISTare only going to get better.

Scattered Hamlet Honky Tonking there way into the Whiskey Aug. 22nd

Scattered Hamlet on August 22nd at Whiskey in Hollywood, Ca.

Scattered Hamlet is honky tonk metal mixed with a handful of cheap trucker speed with enough octane to survive a nuclear war. Created to capture the essence of growing up in the country while giving nods to the original classic rock and outlaw country pioneers, Scattered Hamlet is one part Lynyrd Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet and one part Motorhead and Down, featuring a sleazy southern influence laced with heavy rock elements.

Scattered Hamlet’s influences range from southern rock to groove metal to doom metal with the attitude of punk rock. With humble origins all across the US and a relentless touring schedule of 100+ shows all across America, the band makes no apologies for the equal love of Harley Davidsons, honky tonks, Les Pauls, Marshalls, shotguns and classic American symbolism.

Scattered Hamlet are: Adam Joad – Vocals, Harmonica, Guitar Jake Delling Le Bas – Drums Richard Erwin – Bass, Vocals Adam Newell – Lead Guitar, Vocals Johnny Crash – Hype Man

Their debut full length album, Skeleton Dixie, was produced by two time Grammy nominated producer Jason Donaghy (Rob Zombie, John 5, The Murder Dolls) and mastered by legend Howie Weinberg (Pantera, Slayer, White Zombie, Danzig). The band has amassed a strong underground following called “Hell Riders” who maintain their own “chapters” (fan clubs) independent of the band.

The band’s new album “Swamp Rebel Machine” is coming Fall of 2016! The first single of the same name and video is out now of the same name:

German power metal force ORDEN OGAN follows up on the success of their latest studio album „Ravenhead“ (which became an international chart success in 2015) with their first ever DVD release. But “The Book Of Ogan”, due out on April 29th, is so much more than that… The package consists of 2 DVDs (running time 6 hours – incl. 2 full Live concerts, extensive band documentary, all music videos & numerous specials) and 2 CDs (“All These Dark Years – The Best Of 2008 – 2015” and the self-released/demo “Testimonium a.d.” from 2004). While the “Best Of” is an exclusive selection of the band’s hits and fan favorites from their four albums, “Testimonium a.d.” is made available for the first time ever as official label release here. It received highest ratings in the demo sections of the leading metal magazines back then and is dealt for up to 500€ (!). „The Book Of Ogan“ comes as deluxe 2DVD/2CD box set (hardcover, separate trays for each disc, 40-pages booklet) and is a must for both longtime followers and new fans!

“Compiling all the material for “The Book Of Ogan” was a huge effort”, band leader Seeb explains. “I have underestimated the dimension of this project completely, to be honest. At first it started with the idea of releasing a Live DVD plus bonus material. Then we wanted to add a “Best Of” CD and finally my idea of producing a “little” documentary about the band’s history became an extensive trip through two decades which resulted in a 90-minutes long piece of work. All the video material appearing in the documentary of course is only a fraction of what we had to go through, select and edit. But also interviews with many former and current Orden Ogan members were filmed especially for this release. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun as well. After everything was finished, we (the band mates) were meeting to watch it as a whole. The result: Laughing out loud but also shaking heads in disbelief.”

For “The Book Of Ogan” two entire concerts were filmed in Germany 2015 (Rockharz festival and a club show in Bamberg). Combined with the extensive documentary, all music videos, additional live clips, making ofs and specials, the DVD content of “The Book Of Ogan” clocks in at almost 6 hours!

Regarding the Live recordings, Seeb states: “To me it doesn’t make sense to rework Live recordings later on in the studio overly. Of course, everything should be mixed properly (and this is what we did), but if there are mistakes in the performance, you should keep it real. Otherwise it’s not “Live””.
